Red Fish Blue Fish

Alex and I thought it would be fun to have some nice pictures taken this fall.  We never had engagement photos done.  I thought we’d get plenty of pictures from our wedding, and we did, but they’re wedding pictures; we didn’t have any cute pictures of just us.

So, we called our favorite photographer, Red Fish Blue Fish.  After a rescheduling a few times due to the weather, we met up at our favorite local park at just the right time.  And, the 4 week anticipation ended today when our photos came in the mail.  I love them.  Jennifer sent us a dvd of 125 photos and they’re all fantastic!  There are even some with goofy faces that really capture our personalities and fun relationship.  I can’t wait to pick a photo for our Christmas cards.

It Only Takes $1.19…

… to entertain a 5-year-old.

Last week I watched my niece Zoe again.  We did the usual, eat lunch, play some Wii, give the dogs treats, and go to the park.

This week though we spent $1.19 on some store brand white bread and bought ourselves some great entertainment.

We fed the ducks.

Even without having a real job, I find so much stuff to fill my time.  I’ve managed to squeeze in a little bit of time everyday to devote to my new best friend.  I wish I had more, but I’m working on that.

A few days ago I rearranged my sewing room.  Now that the desk is devoted to the new sewing machine and not the old computer, it was time it was relocated.

Before: The sewing table/machine I was using was under the window.  This is Alex helped put towels under the feet of the desk to slide it – it’s too heavy to lift and too much work to take the drawers out.  Jack enjoyed a game of tug-o-war with the towels.

After: I like my workspace being under the window, the natural light is nice.  And I think the couch on the far wall makes the room more inviting.

I love the new lay out.  And my first real quilt is coming along nicely.

PS. I went into Seattle last night to a happy hour meeting.  It was a beautiful fall afternoon.

Hello Fall!

It went from summer to fall in no time flat!  I have to say I enjoyed the extra weeks of nice weather we had though.

Before the rain moved in today, I ran errands.  I finally stopped by a park just about a mile from our house and took some photos.

By the time I finished errands, the sun was trying so hard:

You can see the rain hitting the asphalt, the small river that formed in the street, and the waterfall which is our gutter overflowing.

Jack, however, could care less about the waterfall.

At the Market

One of the things I love about where we live is the local produce market.  I love buying fresh produce.  It also encourages us to try some new things, and I think we really save on our grocery bill by buying things here instead of the grocery store.  And, what’s better than supporting a local business?

Recently, I’ve been enjoying all of the seasonal change.
